CENTURY CITY BAR ASSOCIATION NAMES 2010 LAWYERS OF THE YEAR AT ITS 42ND ANNUAL INSTALLATION BANQUET AND AWARDS CEREMONY HELD ON MARCH 4, 2010

Century City, CA - On March 4, 2010, about 350 people filled the Los Angeles Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Century plaza for the Century City Bar Association's 42nd Annual Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony, the CCBA's most prestigious, flagship event. This year's honorees were Jeffrey E. Donfeld of Donfeld Kelley & Rollman - Real Estate Lawyer of the Year; Marshall B. Grossman of Bingham McCutchen LLP - Litigator of the Year; David Nimmer of Irell & Manella LLP - Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year; James I. Stang of Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP - Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year; and Juliette Youngblood of Youngblood Group - Entertainment Lawyer of the Year.

The annual gala was sponsored by some of the city's leading law firms, including Bingham McCutchen; Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schrek; Donfeld Kelly & Rollman; Irell & Manella; Klee, Tuchin Bogdanoff & Stern; O'Melveny & Myers; Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones; Peitzman, Weg & Kempinsky; Stutman Treister & Glatt; TroyGould, and Youngblood Group. Friends and family of the honorees shared in the honorees' achievements, with some traveling from out of state to attend the event.

The event commenced with the installation of the CCBA Board of Governors and officers by California Court of Appeal Justice Nora M. Manella. Representing a cross-section of Century City's legal spectrum, the new officers are: Louis R. Dienes of TroyGould - President; Jane Shay Wald of Irell & Manella - President-Elect; Fay Arfa of Law Offices of Fay Arfa - Vice President; Francie Gorowitz of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Sussman - Secretary; and Loren Beck of Russ August & Kabat - Treasurer.

Susan Bursk, President and CEO of the Century City Chamber of Commerce, presented outgoing President Scott Vick with a Certificate of Recognition for his years of dedicated service to the Century City Bar Association and his outstanding performance as President from 2009-2010.

Richard Borow, partner emeritus at Irell & Manella LLP introduced his friend and colleague David Nimmer, whose prolific work as a lawyer and author has shaped copyright law the world-over. Eric Webber, also of Irell & Manella LLP, introduced his former partner Juliette Youngblood, now a television producer, speaking of Youngblood's journey to one of entertainment law's leading practitioners. Rick Caruso, a well-known Los Angeles real estate developer reminisced about a job interview after law school with Jeffrey Donfeld, the man who would later become his trusted legal advisor in every major real estate deal Mr. Caruso has done over the last two decades. Richard Pachulski, a partner of Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl & Jones introduced his partner Jim Stang, who spoke of the firm's growth from an idea shared over lunch into one of the country's leading corporate restructuring and bankruptcy law firms with four US offices. Finally, Bruce Ramer of Gang Tyre Ramer & Brown introduced Marshall Grossman, noting his achievements as one of the country's premier litigators and speaking of Grossman's unwavering commitment to his firm, clients and family.
