PONZI SCHEMES REVISITED

A year ago, I wrote an article for the Century City Lawyer on Ponzi schemes. Such fraudulent activity, which involves the payment of “returns” to existing investors from funds contributed by new investors. Ponzi schemes frequently involve promises of high returns with little or no risk, and seem to particularly flourish during difficult economic times such as what the U.S. has been experiencing.
